Well we made our way down to SS Hobbies & Raceway on Saturday morning for the final round of The Central Florida RC Off Road Series. Pulled in about 7:45am and man was it packed already. 142 entries for the last round. A lot of good racing and competition going on.
Allen went in sitting 3rd in points for the 2WD Buggy class with the B5 and running Pro-Line M3 Hole Shots on Front and Pro-Line M4 Hole Shots on the Rear. He got just a small amount of practice with his car, but was hard to really get a true feel for it with all the 1:8 out there. So going in to the 1st round of quals he finished 5th. Not too bad. He looked as if he was getting faster by the end of the 1st qual.
Starting the 2nd round of quals he finished 2nd, But with 18 entries in his class was just right out of making it into the A-Main. So he had to start off 1st in the B-Main. Coming to the B-Main Allen just took off and never looked back. Had about half a track on 2nd place and finished 1st and bumped up to the A-Main.
His Buggy was hooked up. So being bumped to the Main they had already started 10 for Mains and were bumping 2 to make 12 starting the race. Allen starting 11th and coming to about half way he made it to like 5th or 6th and rolled over, but by the time the marshal could make it to him to help him out all the others had passed. So he had some work to do. He took it easy and ended with an 8th place finish Which made him tied for 2nd in points and it came down to him getting 3rd in points. We were all proud of how good he has done in the series.
We would like to thank our sponsors for helping him during this all.
