This Sunday was a little different for me as I got to run two classes with two Buggies. I made a few changes to the 5 this past week and finally got the Cubed running again with a little help from DualSky.
Given that I’ve never done an entire day with two rides I concentrated mostly on my Stock Buggy but the Cubed wasn’t left alone. Once I got a comfortable set of tires on each it was making laps as Curt changed the infield that gave me fits all day.
On my B5M I kept Clay Electrons on it all day. I had my best run in the second round but it left me less than .4-seconds from locking into the A. From the tone I took my BQ and won earning a spot in the A. Starting ninth I just wanted a good seven minutes.
With a pile up early I made my way to fourth but a few mistakes dropped me back and at the end I was sixth. A good day but I need some low speed steering for sure.
The Cubed was a little different. The first round was my fastest and after that I progressively got worse. I was running Clay IONs and M4 Electrons with my new DualSky 13.5 combo, this day with the motor timing turned up. After three rounds I ended up fifth of six and found that my slipper pads were completely glazed over. After cleaning them up for the main I earned my last place finish with needing to be marshaled three times on the first lap. Curt was having a good bit of fun announcing my progression around the track. After that I calmed down and tried to just, well, not to be stupid anymore.
I was close to fifth and fourth but I was really just glad it was still in one piece.
Thank you all for your support,
