Pro-Line Team Driver Hupo Honigl reports from his race victory at the Motor Show in Wels, Austria.
“The race is always a good race, with thousands of spectators and the track is very special every year! This year we raced on polished asphalt with 20% carpet and wooden jumps – this means you are close to a touring car setup; the traction was crazy high and cars wanted to flip over everywhere; My car was very good from practice number one – I just fine tuned the setup and concentrated on tires; We used Diesel to make the tires softer. Number one choice in the end was Pro-Line Holeshot M3 Semi-Slick for most of the drivers. I was quickest in every practice, so I did not change the car for qualifying. In qualifying I had terrible traffic all the time – which cost me a lot of time in every qualifier. I ended up only 3rd, which was very disappointing!
In my Semi same thing again – my car was fast, but maximum traffic – I had to start from the number 2 spot in the final.
In the final got taken out at the start and had to go through almost the complete field – after a couple of minutes I caught catch the leader, overtook him and extended the lead to over a lap in the end.”
GREAT JOB HUPO!
