This last weekend was the 8th Annual Sidewinder Nitro Explosion at ARC Raceway in Temecula, CA. Pro-Line’s Ty Tessmann is on a roll these past few weeks TQ and winning at the Gas Champs and now TQ’ing and winning 1:8 Truck. Ryan Cavalieri was giving Ty a workout in finishing 2nd, pushing the both of them to lap the entire field. Ty used Hole Shot VTR‘s, to put him on top of the podium.
In the Expert Electric Buggy class Ryan Cavalieri went out on a limb and opted for a prototype tire that was being tested during the event. In the end it paid off with Cavalieri taking the TQ and win! More details to come on this new prototype tire.

Here is a video from UpGrade of Ty in a qualifier.
Here’s a write up from the Tessmann’s about the Truggy A-Main event:
Simply put, Ty dominated the expert truggy class. It started with Tessmann TQ’ing all three rounds of qualifying, and taking the pole for the main. At the tone, Ty got a clean start to the final race and was followed closely by Ryan Cavalieri, who qualified in second spot. Tessmann and Cavalieri quickly pulled away from the field, and began a battle that would last the entire race. Several times Tessmann would pull slightly ahead of Cavalieri, then Cavalieri would close the gap again to make for a great race. The two would battle to the finish, with the gap between never more than 6 seconds, and Cavalieri right on Tessmann’s bumper many times. With Cavalieri keeping the pressure on, Ty kept his cool and stayed in the lead. By the end of the race, Tessmann and Cavalieri had lapped the entire field. Ty took the win by only 2.3 seconds in one of the best races of the weekend.
In the expert buggy class, Tessmann qualified 4th, and was determined to improve his position during the main. The track was extremely tough, and after the 35 minute battle, Ty finished on the podium, taking 3rd in a very competitive race with Cavalieri taking 2nd.
When asked about his set up and the track, Tessmann had this to say, “The OS powered Hot bodies D8 and D8T, fueled by Byron’s, handled the loose, rough track perfectly. And the Pro-Line tires gave me all the traction I needed. I’d like to thank all my sponsors for the best equipment available.”
A great weekend for Team Pro-Line!
