The 2011 NCRC Champs Final was held at Delta RC Racepark in Antioch CA. After 6 rounds of racing the point standings in each division was extremely close with everyone on their “A” game. Coming in to the final round the current point’s leader TLR’s Phillip Atondo was looking to add another trophy to his collection. A Main Hobbies / Pro-Line Team driver Curtis Door had other plans! Curtis Door swung for the fences early on setting TQ with his JQ Products “THE CAR” and Pro-Line Bow-Tie M3 Tires in the first round of qualifying. We would see that run hold up as we went through round 2 of qualifying. In the main it was an intense battle for the first 4-mins with multiple lead changes between Phillip and Curtis, Phillip started to checkout from the field with a commanding lead with Curtis in second and Jonathan Hernandez in a close third. At the 17min mark Phillip experienced a mechanical failure which handed the lead over to Curtis Door, Jonathan Hernandez 2nd and Dennis Close 3rd. The overall point standings resulted in:
