This year the European Championships where held in Spain at the Valladolid RC track, after the warm up race the track crew made some changes to the track and it was much better for 10th Off-Road racing. It started with 2WD practice on Monday. This year Pro-Line M3 Hole Shot 2.0 Tires were the Controlled tire. My Serpent SRX2MM lacked a touch of steering in some corners, but we could find a good setup at the end of free practice and my car was fast.
After qualifications, I qualified 2nd in the A-Main, which was a little disappointed as I TQéd 3 out of 5 Rounds, but Neil beat my fastest time by 0.1sec.
In A1 I finished 2nd, after a crash at the start, A2 was much better and I could take the win. Everything was open for the deciding A3, unfortunately this time I finished 4th and overall it was the Vice European Championship.
Just at the race we got the last pre production Serpent SDX4 parts. The car worked good from the beginning and we could find a good setup.
Pro-Line M3 Hole Shot 2.0 gave me the traction I needed.
Laptimes were pretty close on the top and I could line up 3rd on the grid for the triple A-Mains. A1 was going good and I could take the victory. A2 I had to settle for 2nd place, which secured me already a podium position. A3 Still two drivers had the chance to take the European Championship. I made a good start and after a couple laps I was in the lead, which I never gave back. That means European Champion 2016! Amazing feeling.
Thank you,
