On July 23rd, racers from the East Coast traveled to the Tiltyard in Dayton, VA for the 2016 East Coast Shoot out presented by Race Ready Products. With temperatures on tap all weekend for over 100 degrees, it was sure to be a hot one. The event gathered 127 entries to battle it out for the top spots over the 2 day event.
Ethan entered the event in the 1:8 Nitro Buggy class with his Mugen Seiki MBX7r on Pro-Line X3 LockDown Tires for the entire weekend. Qual points were the race format and he would put his buggy after three rounds of qualifying on the number three starting position in the A-Main behind Pro-Line teammate, Anthony Mazzarra. After the 30-minute main, Mazzara and Mackanick would finish in the top two positions on the podium in number one and two respectively.
Ethan also entered into the 1:8 Nitro Truggy class with his Mugen Seiki MBX7TR on Pro-Line X3 Blockades and covered by Enforcer Body. The truck was also on point and he would start on the third qualifying position for the A-Main feature. A receiver pack battery failure would end his chance early on in the race though after a good start.
