July 16-17 I attended RD 3 of the Midwest R/C Tour at Cheese City Xtreme in Monroe, Wisconsin. Race directors decided that a 2 round/7 minute qualifier format would help move the race day along quicker than the traditional 3 round/5 minute qualifier.
Unfortunately, I ran out of fuel on the last lap of the first qualifier because of the engine being rich and new while pacing 10-seconds ahead of the round’s TQ. In the 2nd round of qualifying, the track was rougher and dustier, so the track was slower. I still managed to take TQ by 5 seconds over Team Associated’s Cole Tollard and fellow TLR driver Chuck Hicks.
In the 30-minute A-Main I had some trouble on the choppy track conditions and lost the lead early on. Once my tires broke in I was able to chase down leaders Chuck and Cole and take over the lead. When the tone sounded I ended up taking the win by 15 seconds!
M4 and X4 compounds were hooked up all weekend. Suppressors and Blockades were the tire of choice the entire race day! Thanks Pro-Line!
