I ended the 3rd quarter by attending the TLR September to Remember Race (9/26/2015) at Speed R/C in Mooresville, NC.
The track changed from a hard packed gritty surface to a smooth high bite clay surface since the last time I attended a race at Speed R/C. After a few quick practice laps, I exchanged my Pro-Line Clay Compound MC Electron Tires for Super Soft M4 Primes. The adjustment made a huge difference and I was able to quickly improve my lap times.
In the 4WD SCT division, I secured TQ by winning each of the 3 heats. In the A-Main, the 2nd and 3rd place trucks got tangled up a few times early in the race and I was able to separate from the pack and put together a smooth race to take the top spot on the podium. My Tekno SCT410.3 is fairly stock with the exception of my bearings, which I upgraded with Boca Bearing green seals. My Short Course Truck was capped off with a Pro-Line EVO Body.
I also raced in the E-Buggy division though I came up a little short finishing 4th overall. The class was fairly small, though the competition was very good and made for some fun racing on a cold and wet rainy day. The weather made us all appreciate the indoor track and first class facility the guys at Speed R/C have put together.
