Crown Raceway – Medford, OR
2nd Round N.C.S.O.S Series
I was really excited to once again head up to Crown Raceway in Medford, Oregon for the 2nd round of the NCSOS series! This was one of my favorite tracks, not only because of the track but also because of the great atmosphere and people around it! I got there around 6 or 7pm thursday night to set up camp and settle in to get ready for practice on Friday. I decided to run my new Tekno EB48.3 E-Buggy and my converted NB48.3 Nitro Buggy for the first time this race. Both cars felt great to start with Friday, after a few small changes to both I was really comfortable and confident heading into race day on Saturday.

There were two full heats of E-Buggy and a single full heat of Pro Nitro Buggy, in round 1 of qualifying in Electric Buggy I was able to have a really good and clean run taking the TQ for the round. While for Nitro Buggy, Unfortunately I made a few mistakes which put me back to 5th for the round. It would be the opposite for round two as I would make a few mistakes in E-Buggy while putting in a good run in Nitro Buggy, it would be good enough to put me second on the grid behind Austin Blair for the 30-minute Main in Pro Nitro Buggy. Luckily my round 1 TQ in E-Buggy would be fast enough to take the overall TQ heading into the triple A-Mains.
E-Buggy A1 would be my first main up, Philip Atondo and I would battle for the entire race, towards the last 2-minutes of the 10-minute Main I would unfortunately traction roll and finish in 2nd. A2 would go the same way as I would make a mistake early and finish in the 2nd position. Atondo didn’t run A3 because he had already won A1 and A2, I would go on to win A3 by a lap and secure the 2nd overall position. In the 30-minute Pro Nitro Buggy Main, Once again Philip Atondo and I would battle it out for the 2 and 3 spot. I was able to stay mistake free for the first 20-minutes. While in the 2nd spot right after my last fuel stop, I would unfortunately have my inside rear diff bearing seize up causing all of the plastic around it to melt and end my race shortly thereafter.
Bad luck had struck me again, but I will continue to keep my head up and I now know to always check on those certain bearings. Overall I still had a ton of fun, both of my Tekno cars were dialed
with the help from Pro-Line X4 Blockade Tires
