The second attempt of the Pro-Line Challenge due to bad weather was held over the weekend 6-7 November. Rain again had threatened to stop proceedings, it actually rained all week including Friday night and Saturday morning. Starting proceedings a little late due to a wet track we were underway before lunch. Overall number were low due to the bad weather but the competition was still HOT!!! Pro-Line Calibers in M3 Compound were the controlled tyres for the whole event, maximum of 2 sets. Most drivers only used one set, due to the great wear rate of the Caliber and the track started to groove up by the end of Saturday, the more the track grooved, the more the tyres wore the faster the lap times were.
GP Truggy Youngster Joshua Hore (LOSI) was on fire during the qualifiers but the ever consitent Robert Flanigan (Mugen) was there to capitalize in the Finals after a slowing Joshua… due to a rear differential failure.
EP Buggy was a 3 way battle with Ari Bakla (XRAY), Carl Dawson (XRAY) and Dallas Gardiner (MUGEN) Ari taking the overall win even after a dead heat in the 2nd Main with Dallas. Carl Dawson was a strong 3rd overall.
GP Buggy was the largest field of the day. Ari Bakla (XRAY) again took TQ and the win after taking the first two finals. Jarred Kind (XRAY) decided to make the trip up on Sunday 2 with only qualifiers still managed to finish a solid 2nd. 3rd overall was the ever consistent Justin Snape (XRAY) was HOT all weekend following very closely but just fell short.
All in all another great weekend of racing at LRRCC with the support of Pro-Line Australia and the fill in committee the race meeting was finally run and won.
