This past Friday I raced in Chico California, at Outback Raceway. I decided to race Mod 4WD Buggy and Pro Stock Buggy once again. I was most excited to race the 4WD because I had spent almost a whole week of just finding the right setup for it. This particular night, there were 80 entries with 2 full heats of Pro Stock Buggy and 13 4WD Buggies!
Qualifying
Qualifying didn’t start as I would have liked it to. In 4WD they decided to run all 13 on the track at the same time, I got out in font early but as soon as I got to lap traffic it went down hill. I still took the win but I definitely knew I could have gone a lot faster. In Pro Stock I had a pretty ugly run, I was all over the place and made a lot of mistakes. I ended up 4th for the round.
We rolled right into round 2 and 4wd was next for me, I knew I had to be smarter when I got to lap traffic. I had an almost perfect run, making only 1 mistake and taking the track record over the previous record I set last week. In pro stock I needed to put in a better run and I did exactly that, I missed overall TQ by just over a second but it was still a great run and I was very pleased with it.
Mains
In 4WD, I managed to get out early from the start. I made a few mistakes but overall I was able to take the win and was amazed how good my car was!
The pro stock A-Main was defiantly the race of the night! The top 3 including me battled the entire race, it was back and forth between all of us. On the last lap I went for the pass for the lead but hit the pipe and went back to 3rd. I ended up finishing 3rd but it was definitely a great race with the rest of the guys!
Overall it was a fun night of racing, I was very pleased with the handling of my cars with Pro-Line Electrons and Tekin electronics!
A huge thanks once again to my awesome sponsors, Tekno RC, Pro-Line Racing, Airtronics, Tekin, Schelle, Byrons Race Fuels, DE Racing, Red’s Airbrush Design, Team Orion, All Around RC & last but definitely not least Epic 1 Designs!!!
