In the latest installment of vehicles, Traxxas has released the new Telluride 4×4 off road trail machine based of the award winning Stampede 4×4 Platform.  This vehicle has quickly caught the RC and Crawler Community by Storm. Over a series of articles, we will show you how to upgrade and improve the performance as well as the looks of your Telluride with all of our cool Accessories Pro-Line has to offer. In our final installment, we will be focusing on suspension and drive line upgrades as well as some improvements to body mounting.

To recap part 1, we added our new 10103-00 Interco TSL SX Super Swamper SC 2.2” / 3.0” Tires and mounted them up to a set of our 2746-03 F-11 2.2”/3.0” Red/Black Bead-Loc Wheels. We also added a set of our 6089-00 Ridge-Line Bumpers Set (Wide) and hard mounting them directly to the body.  Other items installed included a 6085-00 Performance Off-Road Crawler / Desert Truck Light bar Kit,  6046-00 Scale Accessory Roof Rack, Scale Accessories from 6045-00 Assortment #2 and Parts of 6040-00 Assortment #2

The 10103-00 Interco TSL SX Super Swampers we added in part 1 are going to add a ton of traction over the stock tires. For this reason, I’m swapping out the stock plastic hex’s for our 6098-00 PRO-2 Aluminum Clamping Hex’s. For this installment, you will need 2 packs to do the whole truck and they are the same for both front and rear on the Telluride.

Next I’m upgrading the stock plastic shocks to our Powerstroke SC Shocks.  You will need 6063-00 For the front and 6063-01 for the rear. These shocks are pretty good right out of the box and all you have to do is fill them with oil and they are ready to go!

To better secure the body, I’m upgrading the body posts to our Secure-Loc cap design by using components form our 6087-00 Slash 4X4 kit. The Telluride is a direct cousin of the Slash 4×4 sharing the same shock tower / body mount design. The only difference is that Telluride comes with a slightly smaller front body post bridge.

If you want to retain this for the stock body, you can still use the Secure-Loc upright posts with some slight modifications. Simply trim the raised edges of the lower portion of the post until they fit snugly into the body mount cross brace.

This will work for the stock body but if you plan on using larger bodies like our 3322-00 2009 Jeep Wrangle Rubicon Body, I would suggest using the complete front Slash 4×4 mount that comes in the 6087-00 Kit.
