The past week I raced at the 2014 ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals, hosted by Thornhill Racing Circuit near Hutto, TX.
Upon arrival we were presented with a HUGE track (250’x150′) with a high speed flowing layout. After struggling a little bit during qualifying (this being only my 4th race of the year due to our move from Michigan to Texas). I ended up qualifying 83rd (with a 70 and 62), which put me in the 1/16th Odd Final.
After a solid start in the final, I moved up from 6th to 3rd and managed to hold on for several laps, but some unfortunate mistakes and a high pace from everybody dropped me back a few positions and I finished 6th at the end of the 15-minute main.
I started the weekend on X3 Blockades, but switched over to X2 Blockades and noticed a significant difference in handling. The X2 Compound held up great with the high temperatures all weekend and provided a lot more consistent feel on this high speed track!
