This past Saturday I attended the Wounded Warrior Project Charity Race at Strickland R/C Park in Daytona Beach, FL. to Support the Troops who have been wounded in Combat.
Their were 148 Entries after it was all said and done, I decided to run 3 Classes for this Race.
I entered 2wd Stock Buggy, 2wd Stock SCT and 1:8 E-Buggy. Racing got underway around 10:30 with my first Qualifier being 2wd Stock Buggy. The track was Loamy and Bumpy so I decided to run my PL 4-Rib M4 up front with M4 Calibers in the Rear. As a lot of the other Buggies were having traction issues, my Buggy was hooked up with the Tire Choice I decided to run. I ended up finishing 2nd in my 1st and 2nd Qualifier which put me 2nd Overall for the 2wd Stock Buggy A-Main which I ended up Finishing in 2nd in the A-Main!
My next Qualifier was 2wd Stock SCT. This was going to be the Maiden Voyage for the Pro-Line PRO-2 SCT. Truck was equipped with the Pro-Line Caster Blocks, MIP Super Ball Diff, Pro-Line Pro Spec Shocks (Yellow Springs Front and Yellow Rear), M4 Slicers front and M4 Blockades rear, Pro-Line Flo-Tek Body to finish it off.
The truck felt and looked really good off the tone and performed amazing! I took 2nd in Qualifier 1 and took 5th in Qualifier 2 which gave me in 8th Overall for the A-Main which I ended up finishing 5th in the A-Main in 2wd Stock SCT.
The 3rd Class was 1:8 E-Buggy which I haven’t ran in a while, but was excited to wheel it after a long hiatus from the class. I ran a Kyosho MP9e equipped with Pro-Line Caliber M4s. Started off the Qualifier running good the first couple laps and after hitting the triple I popped a screw out of the front right Hub, after fixing the issue I came back in the 2nd Qualifier and put on the best run I’ve had in E-Buggy in a while. I finished 2nd behind Ben Burtle in Qualifier #2 which placed me in the C-Main, but I knew I had what it takes to be able to bump up. I was starting in the 1st position in the C-Main so I knew if I got off to a good start I would be able to bump up to the B-Main, Horn sounded I got a good start and after lap 1 I got bumped from the sweeper back onto the straight away, but I never gave up fighting back for position. I battled my way back up to 4th but time got the best of me and I ended up with a 4th in the E-Buggy C-Main.
All in All it was a Great Day and Great Event for an Awesome Cause and All my Vehicles equipped with their Pro-Line Gear performed flawlessly.
Thank You Pro-Line for the Great Products and Continued Support!
