On April 26, I raced at Augusta RC Supercross in Georgia. For the first qualifier I ran M4 Tazers. This tire is what I usually run at this track and as expected they made my car a little loose, easy to slide but provide good forward bite. If you get the car too tight you cannot get through a fast sweeper in the back without lifting off the throttle. I finished 2nd in first heat. For the second heat I decided to try X3 BowTies. I thought they would provide better grip and they did. The problem was that the track gets rough with dips and shallow holes and I traction-rolled a few times. I finished a little off the pace and far behind.
In the main I used a new set of M4 Tazers also the GEN3 body. With a 3rd place starting spot and a mistake by one of the front two after the first turn, I was 2nd. Within a few laps I was able to work my way by the leader who tried to battle back but in the end could not keep up with the pace of the new M4 Tazers. After two quick pit stops from fellow P-L racer Stephen Wood I finished in first two laps ahead of 2nd place So Young and 3rd place Charles Mims.
Next race will be at The R/C Pitt in Lugoff South Carolina. 5/10/14
