The 4th round of the 2014 Hitec Trophy Chase took place this past weekend in Chula Vista, CA. at Heritage R/C Park. Heritage R/C Park provides racers an amazing facility and fun atmosphere for racing. A total of 80 racers signed up for the event. Rocket round qualifying was used to set the grid for the 30 minute expert nitro mains. Pro-Line driver Adam Drake tq’ed nitro truck.
Truck Final
Adam Drake used the new Virtus .21 engine from Nova Rossi to power his 8ight T 3.0, Pro-Line M3 Holeshots were Drake’s tire of choice for both qualifying and the final. Drake lead the final from start to finish and TLR/PL teammate Brian Sullivan finished second. 1,2 finish for TLR, Nova Rossi, and Pro-Line.
Buggy Final
Sean Gaffney lead the first couple of laps with Drake on his bumper. Drake took the lead after a mistake from Gaffney and Drake started to pull away with his Nova Rossi powered TLR 8ight 3.0. Drake was running Nova Rossi’s Keep Off 7 engine and Pro-Line M3 Holeshots 2.0 tires. Drake continued to pull a way lap after lap and eventually won the 30 minute final by nearly a lap.
