Pro-Line Driver Craig Drescher wins at BRCA!

We recently saw this on NeoBuggy and wanted to share! Great job Craig Drescher and team Pro-Line!

Craig used the Pro-Line BullDog body on his Associated 8E buggy along with Pro-Line wheels and Pro-Line glue. The championship is run over several races throughout the year on different tracks. He used Pro-Line tires and opted for the Blockade as his tire of choice.Craig had this to say about the event:”I’m delighted with my national title. It’s been a long time since I last won a BRCA championship and I must admit it feels weird. It came down to the wire but I managed to get the job done. Thank you Pro-Line for all the support and development over the past year. It’s made a huge difference on our tracks having the X compounds. Keep up the good work”

The 6th and final round of the BRCA Truggy and Electric 1/8th buggy championship took place September 1st at the Notts and Derby Off Road club. The track itself featured a good jumps section which molded into the popular astro surface. E8 Buggy started the meeting off and straight away it was evident who was fighting for the championship. Craig Drescher drew the first blood being one of three drivers to complete their run in 9 laps. The second qualifying run saw Stuart Mahon in 4th joining David Crompton and Simon Willetts in the 9 lap club. The final round saw Simon Willetts upsetting the apple cart winning the final qualifying run with a impressive run of 9/322.33. This resulted with the overall TQ position going to Craig Drescher as it was the best two rounds to count.

The final 10 positions were as follows:

  1. Craig Drescher
  2. Simon Willetts
  3. David Crompton
  4. Stuart Mahon
  5. Ben Doyle
  6. Jack Embling
  7. Richard Taylor
  8. Richard Johnson
  9. James Tatlow
  10. Pedro Oliveria

The time had come for the championship to be decided. The E8 class, A final, were to fight it out over 3 legs each lasting 10 Min. The best two were to count. The Truggy A final was a 30 minute encounter with Jon needing to win Jack.

The buggies started off with the top 4 places completing 17 laps. This was increased in leg two with Simon Mahon joining Simon Willetts, Craig Drescher, David Crompton and Richard Taylor in the 17 lap club. So the final round and the nail biting had started. Craig had won the first leg and Simon had won the second. The next 4 places were consistent throughout all the final legs. The Final leg was won by Craig Drescher with Simon less than 2 seconds behind him.

After the dust had settled the Truggy championship had to be decided, With Jon wishing Jack all the best on the rostrum. Was this tactics or mind games to win over Jack. Well the 30 min encounter was close. 14 cars in the final made for some close racing and Timmy Mallet (race Director) trying to keep his eyes peeled warning the slower drivers that the stampede was coming. This played into Jacks hands as Jon unfortunately got tangled a few times. Jon was leading until lap 7 when they swapped places. Jack then lead the way. Although the pressure was immense Jack kept his cool and showed his maturity by keeping his Mugen Truggy in first place for the rest of the race.

  6. Michael Shorey
  7. Peter Hedley

Although the race had finished there was still questions on who had won the Championship, as Both Jon and Jack were equal on points. So the rule book was broken out, and the count back started. As Jon looked up to the heavens to see if he had retained his Championship from 2012 it was to no avail as Jack, by 1 point had taken it from him. The Top 10 Championship places were as follows:
