The 2nd Annual Battle in the Desert Summer Points Series has just concluded. This was a 6 event series alternating between venues at Scottsdale R/C Speedway & Competition Hobbies. This was a great way to experience the best Arizona R/C had to offer. With the events being held at one of the best outdoor facilities in the USA and also the home of the Pro-Line Cactus Classic, Scottsdale R/C Speedway along with the nicest indoor facility in the USA, Competition Hobbies you couldn’t ask for anything better!
At the conclusion of the series, I was able to secure the Overall Modified Championship. This was a combination of the total points score between 2wd Modified & 4wd Modified. Even with missing a weekend, I was still able to put my Tamiya TRF201x & TRF502x at the top step of the podium. My teammate and good friend, Charles “Chuck” Hicks won the overall 2wd Modified Championship. Chuck was super consistent and really fast throughout the series with his TLR22. He TQ’d and won multiple events during the series.
I wanted to extend a big thank you to Pro-Line Racing for all of their help and support over this series. PL rubber ensured my car was glued to the track and also the PL Bulldog series of bodies gave my cars super consistent handling and all the styling you could ask for!
