This past weekend I attended the 2019 Otterville Nitro Blast at Otterville RC Raceway in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada. My Dad and I arrived Thursday, setup and got ready for practice. I ran my usual 3 classes with my Mugen vehicles which were E-truggy, E-buggy and Nitro Truggy. The new layout for this event took a bit to get used to but once I got the hang of it I was having a blast.
During practice on Friday with my Dad’s help I got my cars handling great. Saturday brought the heat, both in competition and temperature. During qualifying I switched back and forth between Pro-Line Buck Shots and Hole Shots on all 3 of my Mugen vehicles. When qualifying was finished I found myself TQ in both E-truggy and Nitro Truggy and 7th overall in E-buggy.
Saturday night with my Dad’s help I rebuilt all 3 vehicles to get them ready for Sunday’s mains. For this event they ran triple A mains for the electric classes and a 45 minute Nitro Truggy main. When all was said and done I was able to take the win in E-truggy on S3 Buck Shots, finished 4th in E-buggy on S3 Hole Shots and TQ’d but unfortunately didn’t finish Nitro Truggy due electrical issues. All in all it was great time.
