Today was the first race at Auburn Performance Raceway for the new series Ultra RC Rock racing. I built a whole new truck for the 1.9 legends class. These trucks are 100% Custom Metal chassis have a minimum weight of 7 pounds and just look awesome. I built this chassis all myself and this was the first race on it to see how she did.
Heat one went well I ended up 2nd and could tell the truck definitely needed tuning. So back to the pits it was for a quick shock change on my Pro-Line Powerstroke shocks.
I was able to keep the truck hooked up with my 1.9″ Pro-Line Hyrax Tires to come home in second!
Heat two went a little better once I got the truck under control and calmed myself down still only got third in heat two.
With that being said it was on to the main where I had a good battle with fellow racer Gean Boyd for second place. I was able to keep the truck hooked up with my 1.9″ Pro-Line Hyrax Tires to come home in second!
I also raced in 2.2 Ultra with a Yeti. This truck was mostly stock with some small upgrades here in there and of course Pro-Line BFG KR2 tires. The class was full with I think nine drivers and I was able to pick my way to third place in the main pretty impressed with that considering how stock this truck is.
I’d like to thank Auburn Performance Raceway for the great track and hospitality all day.
Also a huge thank you to Pro-Line Racing for the great Shocks and Tires that kept my trucks hooked up all day for two podiums spots and lastly Skyway Hobbies in Paradise, CA, my local hobby shop, for your support to get me to the track.
