This weekend I drove down to Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet for RD2 of the Midwest 1:8 Tour! Upon arrival the track was already extremely gnarly from the previous week of open practice. Nonetheless it made for some challenging but awesome racing!
I’m extremely happy with my equipment right now, Tekno .4 Cars, the new BLOK engines, Orion electronics, Bk Servos and Pro-Line Fugitive Lites keeping it locked in!
In E-Buggy I was able to win Q1 and 2 for the overall TQ, in Nitro Buggy it was really close with Mason Perillo edging it out for the overall. When Mains came around the track had slowed 2.5-seconds from the lap times we had done at the Wednesday club race just days earlier! In E-Buggy I started off in the lead but caught a loose chunk of dirt and flew off the track back to last. After a hard comeback I was able to finish 3rd! Congrats to Joe and Cush for the great runs!
In Nitro Buggy I was able to get into the lead a few minutes in, coming into the first pit there was a little bobble and turns out the tank didn’t get filled all the way running me out of gas 5 mins later. After getting it refired I drove punched and got my lap back, the computer said I had the lead and finished 3 seconds from lapping second. Unfortunately there was an issue in the scoring and I was 3 seconds out of the lead, after the directors reevaluated the race I ended second. In the end it was a great race with Austin Wick getting the well deserved win!
Thanks to everyone for the help and to all my Sponsors for supporting me! Next stop, Fuel Nationals.
