Got out to Auburn Performance Raceway Saturday night for some rock racing. Haven’t been out in a while and was good to see my racing buddy’s. I decided to run 1.9 trophy earlier in the week and this meant I had work to do in the form of putting a full metal cage on the 1.9 trail truck.
My 1.9″ Hyrax had tons of traction all night and my ’72 Chevy Body I used for panels had the truck looking good.
Took me a couple days but got it done and headed out to race. Had to make a spring change on my front PowerStroke shocks during practice but other then that I was really happy with the truck.
Heat 1 went ok, I broke a front lower rod end and beat the truck to the end to get a 3rd. Second heat didn’t go any better as I lost a bolt in the sway-bar early and had to fight that most of the race to only get 6th.
Time came for the Mains I crossed my fingers the truck would stay together and headed to the driver stand. Race started with a big pile up in the first rock section I was able to pick my way through and come out 1st.
My 1.9 hyrax had tons of traction all night and my 72 Chevy Body I used for panels had the truck looking good.
I lead most of the race but goofed a couple times and was passed. I got back to 1st’s bumper but couldn’t get by and had to take a close second.
Thanks again to Pro-line Racing for your help and support of this great hobby.
