I started off the Super Seven Series at Thunder Alley strong taking 1st place in the E-Buggy division with my XRAY XB8e that was equipped with Pro-Line SwitchBlades (M3).
I also took 2nd place in this weekend’s featured class, 4WD SCT. As a result, I received a $30 cash payout, which was a nice bonus and helped offset some of the costs. It was a great way to start this year’s series as I collected valuable points that are sure to be in high demand as the series progresses.
I would like to acknowledge the fantastic job by the Thunder Alley Track crew. It poured Friday and it looked like this weekend’s race would be rained out. However, the track crew did an amazing job getting the track race ready. They pushed the start time back to 4pm to give the track a little bit of extra time to dry out and the crew a few more hours to work.
In addition to the podium finishes, I officially joined the World of RC Parts & Thunder Alley race team this weekend. My wife and I purchased our first Traxxas Slashes from World of RC Parts back in 2013 and shortly there after my first kit, a TLR SCTE 2.0. From that moment on, I have been hooked on RC racing. It would not have been possible without the hobby shop employees helping me sort out several rookie mistakes and timely repairs to keep my trucks rolling and on the track. I am extremely excited to join their team as it feels like I have come full circle in the hobby. I hope I can give back to the Hobby Shop by generating as much exposure as possible for them as well as help them grow the hobby in this area.
Also, I want to give a special shout-out to Mike and Britani at BOOMrc for their awesome artwork and designing my race day t-shirt. It allowed me to represent all the companies I am lucky enough to race at the track this weekend.
