Saturday April 1st was the first event for the 1:8 season in the Northeast at the Adrenalin RC facility in Winchester, VA.  The event gathered 104 entries with outdoor temperatures beginning to reach into the lower sixties.

Ethan entered the event in the 1:8 Nitro Buggy class with his Mugen Seiki MBX7R.  The event held  two rounds of qualifying.

His car in the A-Main was equipped with Pro-Line M4 Fugitive Lites on all four corners.

After the first round of qualifying he would hold the top qualifying spot but then fell to fourth after having problems in his second qualifier.  Starting from the number four spot on the grid, Ethan would immediately charge on to take over third place on the first lap. Damien Westfall, Chris Kline and Mackanick would begin to pull away from the field in a battle between the top three up to the about the ten minute mark of the thirty minute race.

Mackanick and Westfall would turn it into a duel to about the fifteen minute mark.

Fuel strategy was important to allow Ethan to take over the lead with ten minute fuel stops and begin to pull away from the rest of the field for the remainder of the race.
