I recently attended the 2017 Silver State at RC Tracks Las Vegas, and like usual the layout was pretty awesome and flowing. Even though they kept some of the sections from the worlds track it was still a lot different and really enjoyable to race on.
Tanner ran Pro-Line Fugitive Tires in Buggy and the Pro-Line Trifecta Wing in Buggy and Truggy
Practice day went well for me as I was able to run the Truggy for the first time and get some laps on that which was pretty impressive how stable it is and how hard the truck accelerates out of the corners. I was also able to put some time in with both my buggies to make sure everything was good and do some minor adjustments as needed to setup. Qualifying came around and with a few little changes here and there to my cars I didn’t quite do as well as I had hoped but I knew not to worry too much. I qualified 12th in the A-main for nitro buggy, 3rd in the B-Main for Truggy and 5th in the B-Main for E-Buggy. My E-buggy B-Main came around Saturday night and it was good. I was able to get to front and be battling for a bump position for most of the race and in the end I was able to get 3rd which meant I would be 15th in the A-Main.
The Truggy B-Main would be up next and the start was a bit of a struggle for me, I had some troubles on the left side triple and once the marshal was able to get me I was pretty much dead last. I knew not to worry though it was a long 30-minute race and my Truggy was good. By the end of the 30-minutes I was able to finish 1st which meant I would start 13th in the A-Main as well.
E-Buggy A-Main was next and I choose the tire I had ran in the B-Main and also in warm up for my nitro car but I think the track was just too dusty for the compound. I had one good push I the beginning of the race but couldn’t get anything going after I crashed and finished 13th. Truggy A-Main started decent for me I was able to get through a decent pile up at the start but just too many mistakes throughout the whole race and a broken part cut my race short finishing 13th also. Nitro Buggy A-Main was what I was looking forward to the most as my car was super good and easy to drive through all the rough in warm up. Unfortunately I had some flame out issues and it put me back pretty far finishing 11th. All in all it was great weekend for myself as this was the first time I have ever made all three A-Mains, unfortunately a little bad luck in the mains but it’s still early in the year and I’m excited to see what the rest of the year brings. Thanks to all my sponsors who help and support me with all their great products they were awesome all weekend long.
Also thanks to LiveRC and Neobuggy for the sweet photos.
