Our next adventure takes us to the westernmost tip of land where the paved road ends to Ka’ena Point State Park Mokulē’ia Section located in Waialua Oahu, Hawaii.  Ka’ena in the Hawaiian culture means “the heat”.  The State of Hawaii has designated the point as a Natural Area Reserve to protect nesting Laysan Albatross and wedgetailed Shearwaters, Hawaiian Monkseals and native strand vegetation.

Ka’ena Point Trail is a long family hike (5.5 miles one-way) along a basalt rocky coast with tide pools, small natural stine arches and fine views of the coastline. Tires used on our scale trucks for this adventure are Interco TSL SX Super Swamper XL 1.9″ G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires (1197-14), Interco TSL SX Super Swamper 1.9″ G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires (1163-14), Flat Iron XL 1.9″ G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires (10112-00), BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2 2.2″ G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires (10119-14).

For this adventure I used my JIA Special IFS equipped with Power Stroke Shocks (Rear) (6063-01) handling the suspension duties, while the Interco TSL SX Super Swamper 2.2″ G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires (1166-14) provides the traction, and Scale Accessory Assortment #8 (6105-00) completes the scale look.  While Shawn used his Axial Racing SCX10 Jeep Wrangler G6 with BFGoodrich All Terrain KO-2 1.9″ G8 Rock Terrain Truck Tires (10124-14) provides the traction.
