We traveled on Friday for the five and half hour trip north to CRC Raceway in Rome, NY to attend the Rumble in Rome race.  The event gathered over two hundred and seven entries, but had to be shortened from two days to one day due to incoming weather predicted on Sunday.

Ethan ran Pro-Line Fugitives on his Buggy and Blockades on his Truggy

Ethan ran both the 1:8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes at the event.  Using qual points, he was able to put both of his cars into the A-Main features.  He would start 9th in Buggy and 6th with his truck.    After 3 rounds of qualifying his first main was the truck class that started at 11:30 p.m.  A rough start on the narrow track would put Ethan back to 10th after the first lap.   He put his head down and drove it up to 2nd which turned into a last lap battle with teammate Derek Sousa. Ethan could not hold off the charge from Derek and would finish in third place position on the podium. Nitro Buggy started at midnight and he was on the number nine spot. Two laps into the race Ethan pulled the car from the race. The car was fine but he was beyond tired and decided to call it a day. For a kid that is in bed at 8:00 normally he held out as long as he could. I am proud of the effort he put in this weekend pushing himself to the limit on Saturday night into the Sunday morning hours.
