Caty Carmendy went to the Carolina Classic at Sumter RC Raceway. The first round of qualifying for 2WD Buggy went smooth and Carmendy would go on to finish second in the first round with a 7 lap qualifying run.
In the second round of qualifying Carmendy went out on a brand new set of M3 Hole Shot 2.0’s and put on an amazing show to cut through the field to finish with an 8 lap run and reset TQ.
Carmendy started on pole in the A-Main and again went out on the M3 Hole Shot 2.0’s. At the beginning of the race rain fell from the sky and Carmendy fell to 8th in the unfavorable conditions. Once she got used to the track her Hole Shots helped claw her way back through the field one by one. Every lap she gained a position and went on to finish with a 3rd place podium.
Carmendy also raced in the Sportsman Ebuggy class at the Carolina Classic. Electrical issues prevented her from having a good qualifier and she found herself at the bottom of the B-main. Carmendy started 10th in the B-Main on X4 SwitchBlades and raced her way through the field continually making pass after pass. She went on to finish second which would give her the last bump up position into the A-Main. The track started to change as the rain got heavier and heavier, and Carmendy made a quick change to M3 Hole Shot 2.0s for the A-Main of sportsman E-Buggy.
Carmendy started dead last in the A-Main, but once again battled her way through the field with her Hole Shots proving to be a great tire choice. She went from 10th in the B-Main to a podium 3rd place finish in the A-Main!
Carmendy would like to thank all of her sponsors including Pro-Line, Mugen Seiki Racing, Leadfinger Racing, and Cleanwerkz for hooking both of her Buggies up.
