Saturday April 2nd, 2016 marked Chapter 3 of the 2016 RECON G6 Scale RC Adventure Series, known as “April Fowl” which is kind of like a triple play on words; April Fool’s but with Fowl because of all the DUCKS and GEESE in Oregon, but also a foul because hey, April Fool’s is on the 1st! Parker is so creative, if you have met him or heard him speak at an event, you already know this. 🙂
The Pro-Line Team made the grueling 12-hour trek from HQ in Banning, CA to Grants Pass, OR and while the drive was Quite long, it was also quite beautiful and very much worth it. Over 200 entries made this the largest RECON G6 to date, West of the Mississippi. Between Parker and the Dry Creek RC Crawling Course Crew, the event was a great success. Simply put, the RECON G6 is a Scale RC Adventure like no other. Make sure to find an event near you, or if your up for some traveling, you will not be disappointed!
Speaking of Dry Creek… While you might get an idea of how Vast and beautiful this place is from these shots, they certainly don’t do justice to the wonders that this place offers. Miles of blazed trails over, through, around, and under the most unique, challenging, creative and scenic passages you have ever had the privilege of driving your “little toy car” on. We were more and more excited with every turn for what was coming next, and we were never disappointed, this course put us and our rigs to the test.
The Dry Creek RC Crawler Course location could easily be a world-class destination for Rock Crawlers everywhere.
The Prizes offered by Pro-Line and other manufacturers were piled high. Driver of the day in both 1.9″ and 2.2″ received a Pro-Line Grand Prize of an appropriate Body, Tires, Shocks, Scale Accessories, Super Bright LED Light Bars, a Roll-Up Pit Mat, and a Travel Bag! Other raffle prizes included Full sets of BFGoodrich KR2 1.9″ and 2.2″ Tires and much More!
A little bit about the Bridge, while a very small portion of the course overall, this bridge structure (know as “Scott’s Memorial Bridge System”) is massive, entertaining, and quite challenging. It even includes a cable suspension bridge section! Definitely a must drive.
A huge thank you to all of the Clubs, Hobby Shops, Manufacturers, and individuals for Supporting this awesome event, and a Very special thank you to the RECON G6 Crew and The Dry Creek Crawler Course Crew for hosting such a phenomenal job! Simply can’t wait to be back up next year! I think we need two days next year though! Just sayin’ 😉
