Last weekend I made the flight all the way to Phoenix for the 17th Annual Dirt Nitro Challenge!!
Coming into this race I had heard that there was going to be long nights with a “sketchy” program. Well that was far from the truth! This was a very well organized event with an amazing track, huge props to The Dirt Crew for their hard work!! As for racing I decided to race Pro-Buggy, Pro-Truck and Pro E-Buggy.
Jared ran Pro-Line X3 Suppressors on his Truggy, and Buggies
With only 2 timed runs and one of them being seeding I struggled a bit with wrecks and seeded into the C qual for E-Buggy and Truggy and the D-Main for Buggy. As far as qualifying I had a few issues in each class along with a bad run putting me 2nd in the D-Main behind Kyle in Pro Buggy, 4th in the C of Pro Truck and of Pro E-Buggy !
The E-Buggy and Truck Mains were ran on Saturday and the Nitro Buggy Mains on Sunday. Truggy I had an issue in the first few laps putting me out of the race. In E-Buggy I got hit a few times on the first lap dropping me down to 15th, but I was able to put in a drive to catch up to the bump spots!
After an awesome battle with Cody King and Cole Ogden I would have to retire while in a bump spot with a minute to go due to a broken body. Although I’m disappointed I didn’t get the bump I’m still happy that I had the pace to complete at this level!! Also congrats to Noah Dickerson on the win and bump! On to Pro-Buggy! I would have a rough start as I hadn’t paid attention to the track conditions and made a poor tire choice, this would drop me back and I would finish mid-pack.
Overall I’m still happy with my results, I was able to be on pace even though I had a few issues. I’d like to give a shout-out to all of the Tekno Team for their support this weekend as I couldn’t have done it without them!!!
