We arrived Friday so we could get some practice in on the new track layout. We had lots of fun and could not wait for the morning. It was a little chilly Saturday morning, but we were ready for some racing. We pitted with #Brett and #Kiarra Hold in their trailer. Our dog Sammie was there too, but you wouldn’t have known as he slept most of the day.

I raced 2wd short course truck with my girl #Kiarra. My first qualifier didn’t go very well at all. I ended up having a very long lap when my body cover got caught up in my rear tire. The marshal had to come and pull it out for me. We made a couple changes on my truck and I noticed improvement during my second qualifier. I was in the 3rd position in the main most of the race, but I thought I lost the podium on my last lap. I’m still not sure what happened, but as I was coming around a corner my truck slowly did a turtle roll onto the roof letting the 4th position car pass me. He got a small lead on me and I thought it was over. All of a sudden I saw he made the same mistake as I did and he ended up on his roof letting me pass him as we came across the finish line.

We both raced 13.5 buggy today. David was able to qualify 3rd, but ended up having some difficulty during the main. Just like me in my short course race he slowly turtled over at the beginning of the main and had dropped all the way to 7th, but he pushed hard and even after being taken out by another racer he was still able to finish 5th. I on the other hand had some really bad luck. I qualified 2nd in the B Main, but knew I had a good chance for the bump to the A. NOT! On my second lap my turn buckle popped and by the time David was able to snap it back in my lap time was 1 minute 14 seconds long. I used the rest of the race for practice and was able to finish 4th.
