Kevin Thomas’ First Full Season with Pro-Line Racing

KJT-EOS-2015

I completed my first full season of RC racing on December 18th; before I get into any specific details though I would like to thank Jessica at Pro-Line Racing, Mario at Bullit R/C Hobby Shop, Cory and Mihai at Boca Bearings and Nick and Barbara at Maclan Racing/Xpert Servos/ARC. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and would like to express my gratitude.

The 2015 racing season was definitely a busy one; I collected a total of 36 plaques and trophies at various races throughout the southeast. The most memorable race was very early in the year at the 2015 North Carolina Indoor State Championships. Prior to that race I had only reached the podium one other time, I remember being so nervous in the A-Main that my legs were shaking as I tried to avoid a major wreck that would cause me to miss the podium. As the year went along, I became more relaxed and was able to enjoy each race a little more and the pressure to produce results and provide the sponsors with noteworthy finishes slowly began to diminish.

2015 might also be remembered as the year that I added several new vehicles and classes, including E-Buggy, 1:10 4WD Buggy, 1:10 2WD Buggy and USGT Touring Car. Even with the addition of so many new classes, I was still able to qualify for the A-Main in 97 out of the 108 races I entered. Most importantly though was the experience and enjoyment I gained throughout the year racing at different tracks and getting to meet other racers and learn from them.

Once again thank you to all my sponsors and my wife, Miranda for her support and assistance throughout the year.

I am looking forward to 2016 and continuing to learn about RC racing. I am hoping I will be able to build off of the 2015 season and improve my racing lines and knowledge of vehicle setup. I have already signed up for several large races, including Motorama, Psycho Nitro and Wicked Weekend so I am excited for what is on tap this upcoming season.
