This weekend I traveled to Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet, Il for the Electric State Championships! I was planning on only racing E-Buggy but Tekno Teammate Randy Cathcart brought an extra 4WD SCT for me to run. Qualifying was a bit of a struggle for E-Buggy not being able to get through traffic well and lacking overall pace.
Throughout the day I ran the same set of Pro-Line Electrons all day and they were amazing!
After some mediocre runs I qualified 6th. In SC qualifying was better as I was 2nd until the 3rd round when Tekno Teammate Jake Spaulding got me by a second.
For Mains I went up on diffs and took out anti-squat on the E-Buggy, the car was now on pace but I had to fight my way through a fast field. In the end I finished third behind Jake and Randy. In SC I went out into the warm up and the truck just felt too stiff in the rear and was very slippery. After a not so great start I was able to recover a 3rd place behind Jake and Randy again. I am happy that we were able to do a Tekno Sweep of both classes but feel that I figured out my cars too late in the day.
Thanks to my sponsors for their continued support!!
