This last weekend I attended the third and final round of the NCSOS series held at Rattlesnake Raceway in Anderson, CA. It would be a 2 day race format, practice all day Friday while the 2 rounds of quals and Mains would be held Saturday. As I was part of the track crew, I had spent Monday through Thursday helping build and prepare the track, so I had become pretty familiar with the Track layout. I decided to run my NB48.3 and my EB48.3, my first impression of my cars were great, but as Friday went on the track changed every time I was on it. By the time Saturday came around it was very loose, loamy, and BLOWN OUT! After a practice run on Saturday before the quals I immediately knew I needed to slightly tweak my suspension setup… After the changes both of the cars were much easier to drive and soaked up the ruts a lot better.

I ended up taking 1st in the series in E-Buggy and 3rd in Pro Nitro Buggy!
Qualifying
I felt very confident in my cars going into qualifying. My E-Buggy would be my first qualifier, I would have a good run only making a slight bobble, I would take TQ in my heat and overall for the round. In Pro Nitro Buggy I would have once again a good run only making another slight bobble but I would end up 2nd overall only 1 second behind Austin Blair. In round 2, E-Buggy would go the same exact way as I would lock up the TQ heading into the double A-Mains. In Nitro Buggy I would be in the lead for 3/4 of the race, with a minute to go I would unfortunately have a ghost flame out putting me to the back of the pack. I would start 3rd on the grid for the 30-minute Main thanks to my 1st round qual.
Mains
After refreshing my cars and prepping them, the mains would began. My A1 for E-Buggy would be first for me, I would lead wire to wire with no mistakes and lapped the entire field. I would also take the fast lap of the entire weekend (24.7) The A2 of -E-Buggy would be right before my Nitro Main. In A2 I would have a very similar run to A1, I would once again lead wire to wire and take the win. I was really excited for the Nitro Main, I would have a really good start and settle into 2nd place. At around the 8-minute mark, I would unfortunately suffer another ghost flame out. I did my best to fight back, but ultimately I finished in 5th. While pushing to catch up I would put down the fast lap of the race!
Overall I had a great weekend of racing, even with some bad luck in the Main both of my cars were dialed and I look very much forward to my next race!
