This past weekend I attended Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, California for the Sworkz Challenge/Nationals Warmup Race. We arrived at the track late Thursday night so we would be able to relax and be ready for Friday practice to come. I decided to race my Tekno EB48.2 E-Buggy as well as my NB48 Nitro Buggy. Practice went pretty good as I felt I had pretty good pace in both of my classes. Everyone including myself were debating on tire selection, I was able to settle on X3 and X2 Blockades, which was surprising to me because most people went with Fugitive Tires.

Qualifying went underway and we had learned that we were able to get 200 entries and at least two full heats in each class. The Pro E-Buggy class was first up for me, I had a decent run putting me 3rd for the round right behind Austin Blair. In Pro Nitro Buggy, I also had a decent run putting me 17th for the round. In round two I had a very similar run in Nitro Buggy but in E-Buggy I would have a great run putting me 2nd for the round. The last round of qualifying would now be up, I knew that I needed a great run in Pro Nitro Buggy if I wanted a shot at making the A-Main. I would do just that but unfortunately I just missed out, starting 2nd on the grid for the B-Main. I would get another 2nd for the round in E-Buggy, securing the 2nd spot on the grid in the A-Main.

After a good night’s sleep, main day came around. A1 of E-Buggy would be up first for me. I was able to get a really good start, me and Austin Blair would battle for most of the race, towards the end of the Main he went for the pass over me and he would end up breaking his car securing the 2nd spot in A1 for me. In A2 I was once again able to get 2nd, securing the 2nd spot overall for me in Pro E-Buggy.

In the Pro Nitro Buggy B-Main, me and Marty Korn would battle for 2nd and 3rd for the entire race, while I was in the 2nd spot for transfer into the A-Main he would suffer a flameout securing the 2nd spot putting me into the A-Main in Pro Nitro Buggy! A few races later the A-Main would be up. It would be my first 45-minute Main ever! I started in the 15 spot and at the end I finished in the 11 spot. What made me really happy is that my lap times were on pace also.

Overall it was once again a great weekend of racing, all of my Tekno Buggies were on point as well as my Tekin electronics and Pro-Line Tires.

A huge thanks once again to Terry Cook for all of the help and continued support as well to all of my awesome sponsors, Tekno RC, Pro-Line Racing, Airtronics, DE Racing, Byron Fuels, Tekin, Schelle, E1D, All Around RC, and Reds Airbrush Design.
