Elliott Boots Wins BRCA E-Buggy RD2 using Pro-Line Blockades

So after the first round of the BRCA Nitro Rallycross it was time for us to head back to Dirt! For Round 2 of the BRCA E-Buggy National’s at Kent.

As always we had fitted to the MP9 TKI 3 E, our trusty Tekin RX8 Gen 2 ESC matched up to the Tekin T8i 1950 motor (slightly smaller can size so a little less weight). The ESC still being the same one that we ran all last year and won last year’s E-Buggy National’s with, still going like brand new.

So back to dirt, we awake in the morning to see rain, and feared the track would be under water. We arrived at the track however and to our amazement it was bone dry and looking great!

We started with our base setup for the new front tower and shocks that Kyosho have just released, and fitted a set of Pro-Line Hole Shot 2.0 for practice.

The car seemed good during practice but the small pin of the Hole Shot 2.0 didn’t provide the forward drive we needed due to the loose conditions. For the first qualifier we would fit a set of Pro-Line Blockades.

Qualifying:

Round 1: We had fitted a set of Pro-Line Blockades to the car, and also changed the front spring to Grey (new longer, to match the longer shocks) to help keep the front end better supported under braking. The car was an improvement on practice and allowed us to push harder. We took the TQ for the round ahead of Jack.

Round 2: We kept the car the same for this round, but the car suffered from being a little soft which caught the car and put us on our roof unsighted by the Marshall, ending up 2nd for the round behind Jack due to this.

Round 3: For the final round we decided to fit a set of Pro-Line Bow-Tie 2.0 in a harder compound to help with the Tyre stop folding and catching the ruts that were coming through, and also see if they would give more drive. We also went thicker in both the front and rear shock oils to help stop the car collapsing when leaning on it. One mistake in the run but still managed to take TQ for the round and TQ overall.

Final:
The final would be one leg; we would be starting on pole. We fitted a set of Pro-Line Blockade in the harder compound as the Bow-Tie 2.0 had lacked a little steering compared with the Blockade. The final started and we began to make a gap to the rest of the field. Driving clean laps we managed to lap up everyone other than Jack in 2nd, taking it easier at the end of the final to bring it home for the win!

Our Kyosho MP9 TKI 3E worked perfect all day, with Tekin power providing the winning force! Pro-Line kept us glued to the track with amazing traction.
