This past weekend I attended the Top Notch Series at Rainman’s Hobbies in Bakersfield, California thanks to my good friend Rudy Rosales. On Friday I decided that I would run Pro Stock Buggy and Open 4WD Buggy. On Saturday the cars felt great in the opening round and I was able to qualify straight into the A-Main. Then after hanging out with everyone it was time for the Main.
My Buggies were equipped with Pro-Line MC Electrons which gave me the traction needed to contend with the other drivers and drive one of the fastest times by a Stock Buggy and the second fastest time in the 4WD category.
I started 4th on the grid for Stock Buggy and 3rd for Open 4WD Buggy. The start of the Stock Buggy race was rough but after the first few laps I started to find the groove and I drove as hard as I could to catch 3rd place. With about 2:30 left on the clock I had began battling for the last podium position. After some patient driving I was able to pass and secure the last place on the podium.
The 4WD Main start was like the Stock Race with a few hectic laps but after that it was smooth sailing to a 2nd place finish.
Thanks to all my amazing sponsors: Mugen Seiki, Coyote Hobbies Raceway, Pro-Line, DE Racing, Rudy Rosales Racing, DA Designs, and Mattox Designs.
