Father / Son Duo Bring Home Wins at Rnd 2 of Florida Off-Road Series!

Pro-Line Father and Son drivers, Landen Lewis and Brian Lewis each brought home a victory at the 2nd Round of Florida Off-Road Series! This past weekend, Strickland Daytona Off-Road RC Park in Daytona Beach was the home for the 2nd round where drivers from all the state of Florida would collide.

Brian Lewis was able to take TQ in E-Buggy but made a few mistakes in the 6-minute main and Tony Rivas was able to take advantage and pull out the win with Brian coming in 2nd Place.

In Nitro Buggy, it was a Roller Coaster event for Brian. With the park not allowing any practice the day before, Brian was never able to get any practice in so his first laps were going to be in qualifying. But on the first warm-up lap, the clutch bell came off. After taking it apart, it was found that the screw holding the bell on broke in the crank shaft. With no parts or back-up engine, Brian thought his day was over until Michael Greono, a local who happens to run Kyosho provided an engine to run 15-minutes before the B-Main started. Not having any laps on the day, he would be starting dead last (10th) in the B-Main. After putting in the loaner engine and doing a quick tune, Brian was able to go out and win the B-Main.

In the 30-minute A-main race, Brian was able to move up to 2nd pretty early and held that position until the leader had a shock issue and Brian was able to take the lead and bring home the win. Brian used Pro-Line M3 Lockdowns in both the B and A-Main which was a total of 45-minutes and had traction throughout.

For Landen Lewis, he was able to TQ Pro E-Buggy and had a large lead 1/2 way in the race when he made a huge mistake and missed a jump and fell way back but was able to come back for a 4th place finish.

In Pro Nitro Truggy, this turned into the race of the night. Landen and Justin Fales, who are Kyosho teammates, pulled away from the crowd and 20-minutes in were still just seconds from each other. Justin would end up with a bobble on one of the jumps and allowed Landen to get a little lead and then Justin had an issue which required him to pull off. So, that allowed Landen to ease up and cruise around for the win. Landen used Pro-Line M3 Holeshots for the 30-minute Main. Pro-Line Teammate, Freddy Villalona came home with 2nd place.
