Race Report : Mid Atlantic Winter Series Wrap up on Pro-Line IONs and Suburbs

This past weekend was the 3rd and final race of the Mid Atlantic Winter Series between Bumps & Jumps (Etters, PA), McColloughs (Sarver, PA), and Railyard (Elverson, PA).

The Railyard track is a bumpy track made from soft and tacky clay with some good jumps. This made it a bit difficult to figure out a good set up to use on the PRO-2 Mid Motor. If you go too soft you risk rolling over because the clay is tacky with a lot of traction however if you go too hard you risk bouncing too much on the bumpy surface. We got some good practice on Friday and I had a decent set up by Saturday morning. The track calls for slicks, which are allowed, so I used a set of IONs and Suburbs ground down. I’d love to see how the Prime‘s would work here.

I was still fine tuning my set up and figuring out the track in Q1 and Q2. By Q3 I had it pretty much figured out and put down some of the fastest laps of the day for me.

The PRO-2 was very easy to drive and brought in the win in that qualifier and put me in 7th for the A-Main out of 14 racers.

I had a rough start in the A-main and got sent to last place in the first lap. I ended up fighting my way back up to my starting position and finishing 7th in the A-Main.

Going into the Main I was sitting in 3rd in the points series. I was 3 points being the top driver and 1 point behind the 2nd place racer. I managed to finish one position ahead of the leader in the points series and two of the 2nd place driver so overall I finished 2nd in the points series.
