Friday Night Fights, Chico, CA-Outback Raceway

Qualifying:
Once again another Friday night would come and I would venture down to Outback Raceway in Chico, CA. I arrived around 4pm to get set up and practice a little bit. At 7pm racing would start, 4WD Buggy was first up for me. I managed to get out early on the first lap, I made 1 or 2 mistakes putting the track record out of reach but I still managed TQ for the round by almost a lap. It was a completely different story for Pro Stock Buggy. I made far too many mistakes putting me all the way back to 8th for the round.
After a brief break, round 2 would start up. In 4WDI didn’t have the best run putting me to 3rd for the round. Luckily I was able to still hang on to the TQ heading into the main event. In Pro Stock, I knew I had to put in a much better run just to get into the A-Main, and I did just that! I had an almost flawless run putting me 2nd on the grid right behind Kevin Jelich.
Mains:
After about a 20-minute break, the mains would start. In 4WD Buggy, on the first double, I somehow managed to case the jump putting me back to 3rd. After a few laps, I caught right back up to 1st. We battled for about half of the race when he made one mistake and I definitely capitalized on it! I pulled away and almost lapped 2nd place on the last lap, taking the win that night in 4WD Buggy!
In Pro Stock I once again had a bad mistake early in the race going wide and spinning out in the loose dust. I ended up 6th after that mistake. I managed to get closer and closer every lap to the leaders and finally with 2-minutes to go I was within 2 seconds of 1st. We battled back and fourth but Kevin Jelich managed to take the win over me.
Overall it was once again another fun filled Friday night. I learned more great things about my cars.
