Event: Snowball

This past weekend I attended the 10th Annual Snowball at R/C Excitement in Fitchburg, MA. For the past 10 years, the best racers around New England compete in this annual event.  With 162 total entries the off road pits were packed and overflowed into the carpet track pits.

A new layout was put down for this event the week before. It featured a few tricky sections that kept the racers on their toes and made racing even and fun for all. The new layout didn’t dry as it typically does due to the weather, so traction was a little lower than normal after the track change. Traction started out low-medium and ended being medium bite by the end of the day.

We ran two rounds of qualifying and went immediately into the mains. The RCE crew did a great job keeping to the schedule so we were done by a reasonable time Sunday night.

In modified short course I was able to TQ both rounds of qualifying and win the main. In 2wd modified I qualified 6th and finished 4th.

For both short course and buggy I ran the same set of M4 Electrons front and rear the entire day.  They kept getting better and better with each run.
