I attended the 20th Annual Lone Star Classic race the weekend of Dec 6th and 7th. This race was local for me so I arrived late in the afternoon Friday to get a few practice runs in.
Another P-L Driver, Tyler Hooks, was attending as well and was helping me with setup for my car.
Saturday qualifying I struggled with engine and battery issues, and overall didn’t get any good solid runs in. Due to these issues I started from the back of the B-Main in Intermediate Buggy.
Sunday I had gotten my issues resolved and went out for my 20-minute Main. I had been running the same X3 Hole Shots all day Saturday, and decided to run the same Tires again for this main.
The Hole Shots are a go to fast Tire for this track and have always been an excellent choice.
The X Compound allowed me to run the entire Main without any worry that they were going to fall behind.
I was able to get to P1 and ended up putting two laps on second place, and bumped to the A-Main. I started in the very back of the pack for the 30-minute race. I chose to run X3 Fugitives for this race, as they were awesome in the warm-up. After a few laps, I had put myself in P1 again and was able to hold that place to the end, putting 4 laps over second place.
I had a great time at this event, and an even better time running my first real Nitro race. I was able to chat to many other Pro-Line drivers such as Tyler Hooks and Josh Glancy. Cody King was also in attendance and he gave me some great information on setup, Tires, etc.
Thanks Pro-Line!
