Brian Cooke at Ocean Springs RC on Hole Shots

This past weekend I had the pleasure of racing the 2014 Summer Slam at OSRC – Ocean Springs RC …

When we arrived Friday for practice, man we were shocked.. The track looked to be completely grooved and we thought wow we are set for racing 🙂 NOT SO MUCH… we didn’t realize the dirt was mostly sand and was very polished and slick… After some practice we quickly moved to a small pin tire called the “Hole Shots” and we never looked back… The track was just so tight and slick… On Saturday we arrived early and they would run only 2 heats and then the mains in a cool format where they alternated between offroad and then onroad on their carpet track!!!!!

All day long I struggled with my 2WD Mod Buggy but I was able to get the bumb up into the A-Main and ended up finishing 7th.

My 4×4 Mod wheeler was a whole different game! My car was dialed all day and I qualified 2nd behind a very fast John Walters and just barely ahead of my Pro-Line team mate Kris Bolin… When the tone sounded myself and John were off to the races.. I was able to hang in there close for about 3-4 minutes and then had a wreck and I could never catch back up.. At one point I was battling hard for the 2-3 spot with Clint Mitchell and I was finally able to finish with a very respectable 2nd place podium.

I ran Hole Shot M3 Front and Rear on my 2WD Mod Buggy and I ran Hole Shot M3 Rears and X2 Scrubs fronts on my 4×4 wheeler.

All in all a great weekend on a very cool track and as always my proline tires were dialed in and gave me exactly what I needed to be successful.

Thanks so much to all the Pro-Line crew I couldn’t do it with out you.
