The PA Tri-County Summer Sizzler was rescheduled for Saturday, July 5th instead of Sunday, July 6th because of the initial turnout. It was a beautiful day at Trains and Lanes for my first day racing there. I race in the 2wd mod short course.
I had issues in the qualifiers with my ESC going into thermal overload mode and cutting out on my while it rebooted. Made for a frustrating early part of the day. I finally sorted things out with my springs, shocks, ride height, motor, and a different esc for the double A-Mains. The changes made a big difference and handling was much improved.
I had more than enough traction using Pro-Line Blockades in the front of my 2wd short course truck and Pro-Line Calibers in the rear. The Pro-Line body made sure wind did not affect me as much.
After the double A-Mains, I moved up to second overall in points for the series with third place right behind me by 1 point. This will make for a fun final part of the series at Hobby Hut Raceway.
I also had the privilege of meeting another Pro-Line driver, Devin Chesney and his family. He’s a great guy and one heck of a driver.
