June-Bug Jamboree
6-27-14 to 6-28-14
Novelty Raceway held a new spring trophy race that attracted many of Missouri’s best 1:8 racers. The track was very technical with a lot of jump sections and nearly every corner was off-camber. This made staying in the groove hard, which was very important since there was a very good blue groove with a lot of fluff and dust on the outside.
For both my buggies, I chose X3 Blockades for practice and qualifying. They gave me more than plenty of grip and consistency to not only turn fast laps, but to last on the hot grooved surface. In nitro I qualified 3rd, missing a 10-lap run by a couple tenths. And in E-Buggy, I was able to TQ both rounds of qualifying putting in 2 10 lap runs. Sadly, a major storm system came ripping through the area, cutting the race day short. So I did not get to run any of my mains, and qualifying was used to determine finishing order. This was disappointing because in nitro my car was super consistant and easy to drive and I felt like a had a good shot at wining the 30-min A-Main. But I was happy with electric since I TQed, but I really wanted to race the main though.
Overall it was a great race weekend. Both my cars worked great, and my Pro-Line tires were awesome.
I would like to say thanks to all my sponsors for the 2014 season, Pro-Line, Byrons Fuel, Castle Creations, Xray, Rcamerica, Hudy, Lutz R/C, Boom RC, and a special thanks to Riggs designs for the awesome paint work.
