6/7/14 – Mushroom Bowl RC
Classes: E-Truggy, 4wd SCT
Race info: Over 200 entries!!!! Two rounds of heats and double A-Mains.
E-Truggy- again, this vehicle was at its best performance all around and I set TQ in round 1 ahead by 12 seconds. In round 2 I re-set my own TQ. Heading into double A-Mains I looked over my truck, set the ride hight, checked the camber, etc.
I started pole and led start to finish and lapped the whole field except for second place. I also ended up catching second on the last lap! For the second main I did the same and led start to finish but this time I lapped the whole field! This truck is awesome! There’s no possible way I could be happier with it!
4×4 SCT- the truck overall was at its best setup wise and after round 1 I had a few bobbles and ended up 4th over all out of nearly 30 trucks. So I made a few changes in my rear end to get more traction and I went out for round 2 and I ended up qualified 2nd overall!!! At this point I kept my truck where it was and went into double A-Mains happy.
Starting second in A1 and running second the whole race within a few seconds behind the leader, I went around a right turn and my truck wouldn’t straighten back out as my front drive shafts coming from the diff to my front right wheel popped out and I lost the pin which kept it from being 4-wheel drive. So I had a DNF while running in second 🙁 and I couldn’t find any of the parts on the track or any spares so I couldn’t finish A2.
Overall- I got to meet a team member from Tekno RC and Venom RC as well named Brandon who took the win in 4×4 SCT so that was awesome! And being that there were that many people there I believe that this series will be a fun one!
I want to thank all my sponsors Tekno RC, Pro-Line, Venom/Atomik for being with me every race I go to and helping me do so well in this hobby. I really appreciate it!
On My Truggy I used Blockades for the damp runs and HoleShot for the dry blue groove. On my 4×4 I did the same. Blockades in wet and HoleShots in blue groove . All tires on M3 compounds
Thank you,
Devin Chesney
