Last weekend was the Tale of Two Cities race at Hal’s Hobby Warehouse in El Paso, Texas. Hal’s Hobby Warehouse has served as El Paso’s largest full line hobby store since 1954 and has a 4,500 square foot store with both an on-road and off-road track.
The event kicked off with practice on Friday and racing took place Saturday. The event had 12 heats.
TLR/Pro-Line Driver Adam Drake TQ’ed the nitro buggy class with his Nova Rossi powered TLR 8ight 3.0 buggy and Pro-Line M3 Hole Shot 2.0 tires. In the 30 minute A-Main final Drake got a clean start and was able to lead start to finish. During the final, Drake was able to pit using a 10 minute fuel strategy with his Nova Rossi Keep Off 4 engine and Nitrotane fuel. Drake again used Pro-Line’s M3 Hole Shot 2.0’s in the final.
Adam also competed in the 1/8th electric buggy class and was able to take the TQ and victory with his Tekin powered TLR 8ight E 3.0 also running Pro-Line Hole Shot 2.0 tires.
