Race Report: Wounded Warrior Project Charity Race with Doug Dragotta

Had a great weekend attending the Wounded Warrior Project Charity Race at Strickland RC Park in Daytona, FL. The race drew approximately 150 entries and was held for a great cause donating all entry fees to the Wounded Warrior Project. I ran 1/10 2wd Modified Buggy and Short Course Truck. Track conditions were sandy and very rough, challenging to say the least, but fun nonetheless. I choose M4 Hole Shots front/rear, F-11 +3mm wheels, and Flo-Tek body for the SCT and a M3 Hole Shot rear tire and MC ION front tire with Velocity wheels for the 2wd buggy.

Qualifying went well and in the second round I had my best qualifiers for both classes and ended up starting 3rd overall in SCT and 2nd overall in 2wd Mod Buggy for the Mains. For the start of the A-Mains track conditions became very slippery and I ran the same tires I used for my qualifiers since they were already scrubbed in. This proved to be a safe choice that ended in a good result, I secured a 3rd place finish in SCT and a 2nd place finish for 2wd Mod Buggy.

Thanks Pro-Line Racing for the support and to my other sponsors, Team Associated/Reedy.
