Their first big race after opening day, Trains and Lanes Hobbies had approximately 150+ entries to “The Game Changer” cash race where 50% of the entry fees go to the racer payout purse. With the loom of torrential rain and thunderstorms stretching from Canada to Mexico yesterday turned out to be a spectacular event put on by racers for racers. At one point an extremely large black rain cloud must have missed us and the sun by about 3 feet!

With the weather behind us (and by behind us I mean all of us ignoring the constant threat of the “R” word) and the sun beating down on to the track round 1 of qualifying was underway.

For qualifying Round 1 I wasn’t the fastest but ended up 9th overall after the dust settled. Driving smooth, not pushing it and still was able to qualify in the A. My standard MP9 TKI 3 set up similar to Cody’s worlds set up was working well for me. Stiffer oil (45/30) and stiffer springs (blue all around) than last week and some Pro-Line M3 HoleShot tires proved to work really well with the wonderful groove starting to form underneath our buggies!

For qualifying Round 2 some driver error came into play! I over drove a little at the very end of my qualifier and made some mistakes. I was on a great run as well, possibly would have bumped me a few spots up! My equipment and tires are never the problem, it’s my hands! =)
